Our Journey & Philosophy
Welcome to Honorable Harvest Tea Shop and Apothecary! I am Amelia, the founder, owner, certified herbalist, and Native Plant Master behind our sanctuary here in Lyons, Colorado.
My story is deeply rooted in plants and the earth itself, beginning high in the mountains of northern New Mexico. Since I was a young girl, I have loved connecting with native herbs in the mountains and foothills. My father, Scott, owned a store in Taos called Hummingbird Supply, where we gathered and prepared herbs together. He instilled in me a deep connection to nature and taught me the foundation of plant medicine: that we must have a reciprocal relationship with all living things.
Before opening the apothecary, I built a professional career in Business Development for worldwide nonprofits focused on environmental conservation. I have also participated in hands-on conservation work, gathering seeds for the rehabilitation of shared lands. This dedication to ecological stewardship directly informs how we operate today. I proudly source our ingredients with deep respect, gathering from my own garden in Apple Valley, the Lyons community food forest, Colorado partners like Jack’s Solar Farm and Sacred Plant Co., and even receiving herbs from my father in the high mountains of New Mexico.
Today, Honorable Harvest represents the culmination of this journey—a magical gathering place where my retail background, herbalism practice, and business expertise meet. My ultimate mission is to provide a nurturing space where you can connect with nature, yourself, and our community.
