Many of the weedy, invasive species we see today were often introduced multiple times and in various locations by immigrants who brought with them plants they were familiar with and valued for their medicinal and nutritive qualities. Imagine traveling to a new world and not knowing what would be there when you arrived!
Join us for an herb walk to learn about various “immigrant plants” growing in our region, including:
Their history and uses by immigrants and native populations once introduced.
Gathering techniques.
Preparation methods.
Cost: $25
You’ll also receive handouts with information and recipes on each of the herbs we’ll discuss on our walk.
